All India Students' Association (AISA), student wing of the Left, has launched its Save Jamia Millia Islamia II campaign today.

Under the event, the student organization has planned to gather at Urdu Ghar, ITO, at about 3 PM today.

The citizens’ convention is to see participation from journalist Seema Mustafa, Kuldeep Nayar and others, according to Ravi Rai, general secretary, All India Students' Association.

AISA representative said once again they will raise their voices against stifling environment prevailing on the JMI campus.

“We will raise the issue of fees hike, students’ union election and victimization of a student, who had filed a PIL against the University for holding elections on the campus,” said AISA representative.

It is understood that students from Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University and JMI are to turn up. The representative also said a JTA member is also going to participate in the meeting.

A few days ago AISA with other students had marched to the HRD ministry to highlight the mistreatment of students at the hands of JMI authorities. However, only a few JMI students could participate in the rally for fear of retribution.

Upset by tuition and mess fee hike many students had peacefully protested outside the provost office a few days ago. They were not only chased by the Bulls (university security staff) from the spot early morning but many students were issued show-cause notices.
