Many Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) alumni mourned the death of Sher Mohd, an alumnus and employee of JMI on social network site Facebook. They came to know about his death after Javed Alam posted the news on his Facebook page at around 11:13 AM on September 27. Alam wrote that Sher succumebed to his injuries in Medanata Hospital Gurgaon on the evenening of September 26. He was rushed to the hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a Gurgaon road accident.

The post reports that Sher, after finishing his studies from JMI, was working with the Applied Science department of the Engineering faculty, JMI. He will be buried at 2 PM on September 27 in his hometown Nagina Mewat, mentions the post.

More than 16 JMI alumni mourned his death.

Asad Haider Zaidi wrote on FB: "Sad news. May his soul rest in peace."

Mumbai-based alumnus Irfan Zamindar wrote: "Amin."
