Media is a powerful tool of the 21st century. Is it behaving responsibly or not? A public lecture has been called by Islamic Centre for Peace and Prosperity (ICPP) and Jamia Old Boys’ Association at faculty of Engineering and Technology, Department Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on October 13 from 2 PM to 5 PM to answer these questions. Mohammad Adam, founder of the ICPP who is behind this event, said: “It is important for us to know the positive role of the media. It is a powerful tool and a report can lead to violence and peace also. Keeping all these things in mind, our speaker will deliver a lecture on the most burning topic. Today we feel that the media is all about selected news. We should use media in a positive way.” The public lecture is followed by open Q & A session. Peace TV spokesperson Nisaar Y. Nadiadwala, a known speaker on the media, will address the gathering. To know the truth behind the scene join us for this event, said ICPP. Information through media is reaching billions of people framing their mindsets and hence it is important to understand the functioning of the media, claimed Adam, who lives in Mayur Vihar. Right now the ICPP that works for peace and prosperity operates from its chief’s house. The organization is planning to have its office soon, according to its chief Adam, who is JMI alumnus. A Madarsa product, Adam did his PHD in Urdu from JMI and currently is temporary Urdu news reader at Doordarshan. Entrée to the event is free and people of all faiths are welcome.
