Jamia VC appointed to the Central Board of RBIOT, September 26, 2011 IST Okhla Times Campus Reporter/JMI
Najeeb Jung, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia has been nominated to the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India that controls the monetary policy of the country and also maintains the country’s reserves. On his appointment to the Central Board of RBI, Najeeb said: “It is indeed an honour that I have been entrusted with this huge responsibility.”
The Central Board is the apex body of the RBI. The general superintendence and direction of the Reserve Bank of India is entrusted to the Central Board of Directors. The Central Board is appointed by the Government of India in keeping with the Reserve Bank of India Act.
The media coordiantor termed the development a matter of great pride and pleasure for Central university JMI.
