Jamia students qualify IIT-JAM and ICAR PUSA

Some 20 students of department of Bio-Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), have qualified to various M.Sc. courses of national repute in the country. These students have secured national ranks obtained through All India Level Entrance Examinations 2011. Those who made it big in IIT-JAM 2011 included, Mohd. Wasif Khan, Mohd. Saif, Syed Yusuf Mian, Zia Tariq, Manju, Uzma Parveen, Shazia Parveen, Nilesh Kumar Sharma and Raj Kamal Choudhary. Those who made it to the entrance exam at ICAR-PUSA 2011 are: Mohd. Wasif Khan, Nilesh Kumar Jain, Mohd. Saif, Raj Kamal Chaudhary, Faraz Shaheed,  Zia Tariq, Shahbaz Khan, Shazia Khan and Manju.

Uzma Parveen and Syed Yusuf Mian also made it big.

University officials are happy with the development, terming it as a pride moment.

It has been a good year for JMI as two of its girl students made it to the Indian Army. Parnika Lomas – 2008 batch and Kriti Saxena – 2009 batch, were selected to the Indian Army (JAG Branch). Both the students studied at the Faculty of Law.

At that time JMI Media Coordinator Simi Malhotra said: “It is a matter of pride. The University congratulates both the students on their success and wishes them the very best in all their future endeavours.”

These two students have been selected out of 10 women who have been roped in for this prestigious assignment from all over India. JMI students also made it to the UPSC this time.
