Fatima birthday: JOBA organizes talk on empowerment of women in Islam

On the birthday of Hazrat Fatima, daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PUH), Jamia Millia Islamia Old Boys’ Association (JOBA) and Husan Ara Trust organized a talk on empowerment of women in Islam on May 13 at Faculty of Engineering at about 7.30 PM.
Local residents and university staff in huge numbers turned up at the centre to listen to speakers, including Maulana Jawed Abidi, Afroz Mustaba, Dr Wali and others. The auditorium was full with visitors. People of all age had turned up at the centre.
The two hour long event was well received by audience, who were impressed by the speeches delivered by speakers. Poets too were invited. Salim Amrohi, Dr Majid Deobandi, Dr Ahsan Bidayuni and others also braced the occasion.
JOBA president Javed Alam said: “The programme was jointly organized with assistance coming from the Husan Ara Trust. This is being held on the birthday of Fatima, daughter of the Prophet (PBUH).”
Vote of thanks was given by Intakhab Alam, senior vice president JOBA UEA chapter, who was in New Delhi.
Speakers and poets wowed the audience with their ghazals and speeches.
After the event was finished, visitors were served biryani.
On and off JOBA organizes such events to create awareness among residents, students and university staff on important issues.
Currently JOBA is providing free coaching to aspirant students who want to take admission in different courses of JMI.
