The Outreach Programme, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a Talk on “Edward Said, Dissent and Postcolonialism” by Prof. Gauri Viswanathan on August 6, 2012 at 2.30 PM in Yasser Arafat Hall, Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia. Prof. Gauri Viswanathan is a Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the Columbia University, New York, USA. Her seminal work Masks of Conquest: Literary Study and British Rule in India explores the beginning of English Literary Studies in India and deals with the institution, practice, and ideology of English studies introduced in India under British colonial rule.
