Students and alumni from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) are going places. Just a few days ago four young student scientists from the Centre for Theoretical Physics, JMI impressed upon experts in Italy. They have gone there to participate at a Summer School in Italy, understanding Cosmology – the study of the whole Universe.

It is not only in education that JMI students and alumni have excelled but also in sports. The university hockey team last year won the inter-state championship title after a long year.

And now Ahmed Kamal Saifi, who passed out from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, JMI in 2012, brought laurel to the university.

He won the 1st prize in an International Photography Competition hosted by the BuTinah Island Photography 2011-12.

The theme of the event was “Art of Conservation” in which his photograph was deemed to be the winning entry. He was also awarded the sum of US $ 2000.

Jamia Millia Islamia congratulates Saifi and wishes him the very best in all his future endeavours, according to university press release.

“It is a matter of great pride and pleasure for JMI,” claimed the press release.
