Dear All,

In this age when networking is important XJamia yearbook, a Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) alumni refresher to be published by community portal okhlatimes.com, will help you connect to your friends and fellow alumni settled across the world. It doesn’t matter which year you graduated in, XJamia will provide a range of information that will be useful at all stages of your career.

What will XJamia offer you?
The attractive and exquisitely presented pages of the glossy alumni magazine, the first of its type in JMI’s history of more than 90 years, will update you on the achievements of your friends, juniors, seniors and teachers from JMI in their respective fields.

XJamia will profile with interesting and crucial details the experiences and life of alumni after they left JMI. The intention is to bring the alumni alive before you so that you can catch up with them. I am sure you will come to treasure XJamia for it will bring you in touch with many JMI alumni.

XJamia will give you a unique opportunity to know how things have changed in your alma mater since you said good-bye to it. It will also enable you to share your views on the latest developments at JMI.

How You Can Help XJamia Succeed
1
. It will be good idea for you to pre-purchase XJamia and get your profile if you think that your contribution has been immense on the pages of XJamia with other distinguished JMI alumni. Share your achievement and prized photos with us.

2. I plan to sell 1,000 copies of XJamia before it is published a few months from now, in early 2013. You can book as many copies as you want now. Each copy is priced Rs 1,000 + Rs 200 postal charge for overseas and you can purchase it online.

3. Sponsor as many copies as you feel like for students, libraries and others who cannot afford XJamia.

4. Place ads in XJamia for your enterprise, outfit or concern. The ads will reach all those who access XJamia via the wide network that JMI alumni enjoy worldwide.

5. You might not have ads for XJamia, but you will do XJamia a great favour by informing alumni and other people you know about the ad opportunity that XJamia presents. You can allow me to get in touch with such people.

6. Bringing out XJamia will not only involve devoted work, but also a lot of money. Advertisements that will appear in XJamia will go a long way in financing its production.

7. You can help maximise the number of people who can benefit from XJamia by forwarding this message to your friends and contacts.

Who Will Bring XJamia To You?
Having introduced XJamia to you, let me introduce myself. I have been a journalist in Delhi and London for the past 11 years, with experience in print and web media. I graduated in arts from JMI in 1994 and moved on to get an MA in International journalism from City University, London, in 2001. In London I worked in community newspapers. Also, I was shortlisted for XCity London Award 2011 with four UK-based journalists including Guardian editor.

Please do visit the hyper-local community website okhlatimes.com which I launched two years ago with just one article. Your support and encouragement have inspired me in my work. I request you to extend your backing to XJamia too in specific ways mentioned above.

My background and experience give me the confidence and expertise to feel that I will be able to do full justice to XJamia and make it a memorable and valuable work for you.

Bringing out XJamia would be an exciting and rewarding experience for me, though it will involve hard work and painstaking research. I will spend this winter travelling all over India meeting alumni who have excelled in various walks of life to gather information for XJamia.

Thank you for your support. Please stay in touch.

Regards,
