A Jamia student to address international audienceOT, July 7, 2011 IST Okhla Times Campus Reporter/JMI Malike Ashter, a student of MA (Mass Communication), at Anwar Jamal Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre (AJK MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia is going to participate in the 7th International Conference of Mahdism Doctrine. The event is going to be held in Tehran, Iran. It is known that Ashter is going to present a paper on “Relevance of Faith of Mahdi in Contemporary Era”. The conference is being organised by “Bright Future Institute of Iran” and it will be held on 14-15 July, 2011at IICC, Tehran, Iran. Jamia wishes the student the very best in his academic pursuits, claimed media coordinator Simi Malhotra. This is not a first time that a student from JMI is going to participate in the international conference. Earlier, Islamic scholar Waris Mazhari, a researcher at the Islamic Department, had also attended a conference in Tehran. His article on Shia-Sunni was praised by Islamic scholars who had participated in that conference. Mazhari, a pass out from Deoband, is known for his mastery over Muslim society. Most of his riveting articles on Islam society and Indian Muslims have been published in nationally known Urdu newspaper and magazine.
