Jamia confluence of modern, aged old values of brotherhood and mutual coexistence: VC Ahamd

Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni – UAE, organized its 96th annual meet “Jamia Foundation Day”, to celebrate the birthday of Jamia Millia Islamia. Similar annual events are held in the past in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. This year it was held on 4th November 2016 at Radisson Blue, Diera Dubai Creek. Over 500 hundred Jamia alumni and their families participated in gala event, in addition to the representatives of Alumni in other countries India, Oman, Qatar , KSA and UK also travelled to attend as participant and guest honor.

JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Talat Ahmad has graced the occasion Chief Guest and Osama Al Rahama (CEO of Alfardan Exchange LLC) as Guest of Honor.

The chief guest Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad delivered a speech on the values and ideals that define Jamia. He shed light on the achievements made by the Jamia. He stated that Jamia is a confluence of modern and aged old values of brotherhood and mutual coexistence. It is akin to a platform from which students embark on a journey of learning and self-discovery. It is a model of national integration where children from every religion, sect, and denomination study together.

In addition , Prominent guests who attended the function, and flew from , were Dr. Iqtedar Khan, HOD Islamic Studies in JMI, Prof. Iliyas Hussain , Center In charge Indo Arab Islamic Center, Tariq Siddiqui, former president JMI Student Union and prominent lawyer at Delhi High court, Abdul Muqtadir Khan and many seniors alumni who flew from India/other countries.

Tariq Siddiqui has provided an insight of the minority character issue of JMI.

The programme began with a recitation of the Holy Quran and followed by Jamia Tarana.

The chief guest was warmly welcomed with flowers by Ahmed Khan & Ahmed Khan a prominent alumni and key member of the organising committee. Guest of honor and other distinguished guest were also warmly welcomed with flowers and memento.

Addressing the gathering, Imtiyaz Ahmad Ansari prominent alumnus and key member of the organising committee welcomed the guests and Jamia alumni. He highlighted the achievements of Jamia and also benefits of the alumni how the community can participate and support back the institution. He mentioned how the alumni rose to the occasion to help members in need and to strengthen the fraternal bonds amongst Jamia Alumni across.

Parvez Akram Siddiqui one of the prominent alumni member and key organiser has been awarded for his sincere and silent contribution and effort for the past many years. He is an NRI community leader. He has been instrumental in bridging the philanthropist across middle-east with JMI in order to get JMI fraternity benefited.

Syed Nadeem Zaidi, well known alumnus got nostalgic and explained how he has been going back to university roots. Nadeem Zaidi is one of the oldest and pillar of this alumnus team , who leads from the front.

Nadeem Hasan stated that the guests who came from around the world for the iconic rather Global together of Jamia got the sense of happiness at Dubai in line with Dubai’s vision which makes this event to be aligned with Dubai’s long term objective of increasing happiness levels in the country. Nadeem Hassan a prominent alumnus and always been a front manager and aggressive to provide the alumnus meet to height.

Osama Al Rahama highlighted the importance of the education to society.

Children of the alumni and their guests participated in best dress competition Muslim Ghayur’ prominent Alumni raised the vote of thanks to the guest, alumni and sponsors.

Efforts and contribution of organising key alumni Khaliq Ahmed, Danish Sharief, Riyaz Khan, Rizwan Ahmad, Salahuddin Ansari, Amjad Khan and Meraj Khan have been well appreciated by alumnus to make this event successful.
