A few students of Jamia Millia Islamia under the guidance of NSS and NCC-Jamia took out an awareness campaign of Jamia’s neighbourhood.

rallyjamiastudentThe purpose of the rally taken on Saturday under the guidance of Dr Abid Hussain was to create awareness in the locality following outbreak of the disease in the locality claiming several lives.

Since the outbreak of the disease, reports have surfaced of several deaths in the locality with some activists putting it at double digits. It is another story that the official digit is less than what is being claimed by activists. Most of the deaths have been documented by OKHLATIMES.COM.

With several reports getting published, fogging campaign has been started in the locality. Also, BJP-led civic agencies landed in the area a few days ago to carry out massive cleanliness drive. Moreover, Jamia too has been playing its role by carrying out awareness campaign in the locality to educate people about the steps needed to end mosquito breeding in the locality.

Residents have lamented that a large number of people are down with fever and most of the hospitals are full of patients. The situation is such that hospitals are overcrowded with patients getting treatment by sitting on chair.
