Jamia Millia Islamia has succeeded in getting a grant of Rs 30 crore to promote research on the campus by setting labs. Announcement regarding this was made at the JTA dinner held on the campus on Wednesday, according to sources.
“The grant is being given under the PURSE programme from Department of Science of Technology (DST) under the Ministry of Science of Technology. A few university gets PURSE programme and we are really delighted. This is only result of Vice Chancellor’s hard work. The Government will give it soon as approval has been made. The announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor at the yearly JTA dinner,” said Professor Musheer Ahmed, president JTA.
Teachers from Jamia and across Delhi, including from JNU and DU, visited the campus.
