Many people turned up at Dr Alam’s residence in Shaheen Bagh. Some university Professors were also there in personal capacity, but what left many stumped that until 12:30 am or so when the body was taken to Bihar for final rites, nobody allegedly saw any top university officials on the spot, said a source requesting anonymity.
He pointed out that for years it has been tradition of the university that at least during death one of the top officials does visit home, hospitals or graveyard, but nothing like this allegedly happened this time around.
However, a few pointed out that chances are that the top officials must have not been informed about the death of the faculty member.
