Jamia’s Prof Alam adds another feather to his cap.

Prof. Mohammed Badrul Alam, Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been selected as Visiting Professor by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) India Chair at the Russian State University, Moscow, on deputation for a period of one semester commencing from September 2016 until December.

badrulHe will be teaching courses on International Relations and India’s Foreign Policy.

Prof. Badrul Alam has over thirty years of teaching experience at various universities in India, USA and Japan. He is the author of several books and articles published nationally and internationally.

Prof. Alam has many prestigious fellowships and awards to his credit including Fulbright Fellowship, DAAD Fellowship, Salzburg Global Fellowship, Shastri Canadian Foreign Ministry Fellowship and Baden-Wuerrtemberg Fellowship.

Apart from teaching, Prof. Alam would also be involved in other academic activities like research guidance, seminar co-ordination, publications, delivering public lectures, develop scholarly interactions with the academics of Russia and assist in disseminating information on India and in creating a better understanding of various India related issues.

ICCR, in consultation with Indian Missions abroad, has established Chairs of Indian Studies in various foreign universities. Besides educating foreign students about India, the purpose of instituting these Chairs is to become a hub around which Indian Studies could develop in academic institutions abroad.
