Jamia Nagar SHO Tyagi transferred. Jamia Nagar Station House Officer (SHO) Mangesh Tyagi, who led the murder case of NDMC Estate Officer M M Khan, has been transferred.
Other officials too have been transferred. In total 54 Delhi police officers have been transferred.
Eight of the transferred officials are from Delhi Police’s south-east district, followed by six each from central and south districts, according to PTI report.
Police stations which has witnessed change in Station House Officer (SHO) include Mehrauli, Kamla Market, Karol Bagh, Vasant Kunj (South), Chanakyapuri, Greater Kailash, Kalkaji, Nizamuddin, Safdarjung Enclave, Moti Nagar and Rajouri Garden, they said.
Following the transfer of Tyagi, who cracked the MM Khan murder case, it is understood that Jamia Nagar police station is going to get a new SHO. Khan was killed outside his house in Johri Farm while he was returning from office. Khan was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants and his murder in had left residents shocked. The case was cracked within 24 hours after the incident with the arrest of a hotel owner and a few youths of which the killers belonged to Jamia Nagar.
During the high-profile investigation it was known that the killer had taken an advance of Rs 50,000. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had visited Jasola, to met victim’s family. He announced compensation to the family and job. Later on several leaders, including former Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit, too visited the family.
