If we believe Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan then during his visit to Jamia Nagar today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejrwial has promised to get several things fixed.
The MLA said the CM came to Batla House today to inaugurate first of its kind 2000 KV transformer. After the event was over he travelled across the locality.
The MLA said that the CM visited Joga Bai lal School and promised to begin work to make it four-storey building whose work is expected to begin in two months time.
“Moreover, the CM ordered PWD minister Satayinder Jain to talk to the DMRC so that multi-storey parking lot near Tikona Park is constructed. Also, he asked Delhi officials to fix Abul Fazal Enclave road in two days. And also he promised to begin work for providing drinking water in Shaheen Bagh and Abul Fazal Enclave,” said.
If this is so then his words are impressive. However, activists are a bit skeptical and said it would be too early to jump to any conclusion. And if the CM has promised all these things and they are achieved then well there is nothing better than this for the locality, said a resident on the condition of anonymity.
Moreover, it is not known that whether the Abul Fazal Enclave road is to be fixed or built from the scratch. Residents lamented that it has been seen that patch work is done whenever road goes bad and it has turned out not to be so successful. They pointed out that once it rain the pebble and red mud used for patch up work comes out turning things to old one.
Besides, on drinking water many residents are tight lipped as they don’t know whether the government will provide piped drinking water or will provide water through pumps. Recently reports had surfaced that in several places in Abul Fazal and Shaheen Bagh boring was done to provide water to residents. If this is so then piped drinking water continues to a mirage for residents of Jamia Nagar.
