Jamia professor Md Ishtiaque’s Bihar inning ends

Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, Md Ishtiaque, who was vice chancellor of Magadh University (MU) for the last three years, will be back on the campus following the end of his tenure.

Reports have surfaced in Bihar dailies that Kusum Kumari, professor, department of philosophy and director of women studies department has now been appointed as interim vice-chancellor (VC) of MU.

The decision was taken by Governor-cum-chancellor Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday.

Before joining MU, Ishtiaque used to teach at Jamia’s Geography department.

It has been reported that the appointment process might take two to three months. Candidates for new VC have already been shortlisted.
