Jamia empowers ‘backward’ Seemanchal region

The inauguration of first Distance Learning Centre of Jamia Millia Islamia in Seemanchal region took place by VC of JMI Professor Talat Ahmad at ITI Ground, Tauheed Educational Trust Campus, Kishanganj Bihar on July 17.

Jamia empowers Seemanchal region“This Centre is the outcome of continuous effort and follow up by Human Chain team with director of Distance Learning, JMI and VC Professor Talat Ahmad”, said Mohammad Aslam president of Human Chain.

“Professor Ahmad fulfilled his promise to open Distance Learning Centre in Kishanganj which was announced by him in an Educational Conference organised by the Human Chain at Madrasa Aisha Niswan, Sehra Tola, Purnea. Human Chain is also committed to take initiatives to open Distance Learning Centres of JMI in all the MCDs of North India with the help of Jamia administration”, said Aslam, a resident of Okhla and an Alig.

Besides residents, the event was attended by Dr Ashok Chaudhary (HRD & IT Minister, Bihar), Dr. Mujtaba Khan, Director Arjun Singh Centre for Distance Learning JMI, Minnat Rahmani, Parvez Akram Siddiqui (NRI, Community Leader & President – JMI Alumni- UAE) and Professor MJ Warsi.

Motiurrahman Madni expressed his gratitude and thanked Professor Ahmad for approving the center in a very short span of time and coming again on TET campus for centre inauguration.

Also, he expressed his commitment to run this center with excellence in order to convert it into a grand university. Also, Madni sought support from HRD & IT Minister Dr Ashok Chaudhary to establish a private university on TET campus. Dr Chaudhary expressed his desire to support the TET.

Dr Choudhary in his address, promised to provide all the support in education sector for Kishanganj and Seemanchal region as well. He also promised to meet HRD Minister Parkash Javadekar.

Dr Chaudhary also assured to look into the matter of establishing a new university in Seemanchal region as urged by Mohammad Aslam that “there is not a single private or Govt. University exist in this region except newly established APJ Kalam Agriculture University which not enough to cater the needs of Seemanchal students”.

Human Chain president Mohammad Aslam congratulated TET chairman for opening the Distance Learning Centre of JMI and thanked JMI VC and Director Distance Education JMI. He also requested JMI VC to start B Ed course in this Centre in near future.
