Jamia alumnus remembers ‘worst’ period on campus: Know what happens next

Jamia Millia Islamia has a long history and it has seen many ups and downs. Talking about it, a Jamia alumnus Kamran Malik wrote something that sparked a debate on his timeline with many slamming him for his comment.

“Remember the worst period of Jamia Millia Islamia from 1991-1997. Weak and poor students were beaten. Teachers were threatened. The rights of intelligent students were snatched by using dummy candidates. For attendance, fire has been set. The careers and lives of numbers of students were ruined,” write Mallick and tagged his post to 82 others.

Some alumnus responded by asking him: “We don’t find your contribution towards JMI Minority status movement. U just expert in pointing negative issues…”

To a question by one about what was his contribution that time? I hardly remember, he wrote: “Sir I have not contributed to JMI. Even if I contributed that is impossible to be compensated. I m very thankful to university and various teaching and non teaching staff of university who tried to bring peace in the university under the leadership of Mr Zaki , Mr Shahid Mehdi, Professor Mushirul Hasan and Mr Najeeb Jung…”

Many alumni still remember the old days on the campus.
