If you visit this part of Jaitpur a few metres from Kalindi Kunj everything seems normal. But that is not so. You scratch the ground and will soon notice that all is not well in the locality. It all started after a youth from a particular community married a girl in court from another community, said a resident.
He said since then a lot has changed in the locality bordering Haryana with people from some organisations coming to the locality mounting pressure on the locals, mostly daily wagers, to bring in the youth who after marrying with the girl fled from the area smelling trouble.
And that was not the end of the story as the man who backed the couple is now under pressure, said the resident, who resides in Jaitpur and works in other part of Delhi for livelihood.
He said till now violence has not taken place in the locality and a meeting between the two communities has been held twice to resolve the issue but with little success as the organisations continue to ask for the youth.
Residents don’t know how to tackle such a situation, said the resident, adding that most of the residents are daily wagers and not ready to speak to the media.
The good thing is that the burning issue is being resolved peacefully, he said.
