Schedule and fixture out; countdown begins

Die-hard cricket fans, who were upset after India’s early exit from the Asia World Cup held recently in Bangladesh, will now be entertained by the Twenty20 extravaganza. The fifth edition of the most-talked about Indian Premiere League (IPL) is all set to kick off from April 4.

For more than a month cricket buffs will have the opportunity to see their players compete for the top slot. The final to be played on May 27 that is on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai, is certainly going to be treat to watch. Those who want to watch the show live should get ready for the schedule and book their tickets early.

At the centre of attraction in the IPL 2012 this time will be Sachin Tendulkar, who in the Asia World Cup scripted history by scoring his 100th ton after more than a year long wait. All eyes will be on new India cricket poster boy Virat Kohli. His teammates Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan and others will also be watched.

The opening match that is to be played in Chennai will witness the clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians that is being led by master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Though the match begins on April 4, the opening ceremony of the IPL 2012 (season 5) will be held a day earlier that is April 3. The ceremony is going to be braced by several Bollywood bigwigs. Those who will hit the stage include Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and others. Hollywood Singer Katy Perry is also going to grab headlines.

Like earlier IPL seasons, this time too Pakistani players will be absent from the biggest cricket bonanza on earth.
