Incident with girl in AFE eye-opener for Okhlaiites

Fizza Khan is a resident of AFE. And in written complaint to the authorities, she said on March 5 at about 7:30 PM, I was coming back from Batla House to my residence in a normal 3-wheel rickshaw and when I reached near rait ka teela turn near thokar number 3, AFE, two boys on a scooty came from the back side and snatched my bag (purse).

“They snatched the golden colour bag from my hand and ran away. My document contains following important documents and more than five hundred rupees, pan card, voter ID card, cheque book and other items,” she wrote.

Very little is known whether the accused were nabbed and Fizza got her bag back. This is not only one incident in the locality. It has been noticed that such snatching incidents by bikers are on the rise.

A few weeks ago OT had reported of how a woman’s mobile was snatched in Shaheen Bagh when she had just got down from e-rickshaw and was about to pay the driver. Then too two youth on a bike had come close to her and snatched the mobile and fled after pushing her on the ground. They boys made their way from the spot with nobody coming to her rescue.

Residents lamented that such incidents have only left resident stumped. And the only warning for residents is to keep watch and be careful while travelling in the locality.
