Illegal factories operating in residential areas should be closed: MP Girri

BJP’s National Secretary and East Delhi Member of Parliament, Maheish Girri expressed his displeasure regarding operation of illegal factories and heat furnaces in residential areas.
The MP indicated that, the poisonous smoke and chemicals are proving to be extremely harmful for the local residents and people who live in surrounding areas. The illegal factories including those are related to Plastic Melting, Colouring of Jeans, Making Spray Paints, Melting Brass etc are making it is very dangerous for the people to reside there.

The MP stated that very recently, it has been brought to his notice that in various areas of East Delhi, the illegal factories and heat furnaces are operating in full swing. The owners of these factories are not at all bothered about the harm that is being caused to the people.

The MP also emphasised that the East Delhi was densely populated and included areas like Shastri Park, Rani Garden, Geeta Colony, Vishwas Nagar, Ajit Nagar, Kanti Nagar, Gazipur, Shahdra etc where illegal factories operate in large numbers. These factories are such that they have raised atmospheric temperature of the surrounding areas.

The MP has written letters to Delhi Pollution control Department, District Collectors, respective SDMs of the area and also to the Municipal Corporation and requested them to take urgent action on these illegal factories. Beside this, the MP has also requested the Lt. Governor for his intervention. If these factories and heat furnaces are not stopped immediately, they will continue to harm residents living in East Delhi.
