On Saturday when some residents turned up at ICICI Bank NFC branch in the Community Centre they saw it closed with chairs and other items being dusted and moved to other place.
On being asked, a security staff said the branch has been moved to a nearby place. Though the office was closed due to Saturday, inside employees were seen getting things into order as the new branch is to be opened from Monday in the new building.
The new branch is just a few metres behind the old one. It is close by the most-talked about Al-Bake.
The reason behind the shifting of the branch could not be ascertained. A few days ago the State Bank of India had shifted its branch from Zakir Nagar. Then many residents had objected to it as they claimed that it would increase their hardship with no other branch in the locality.
Now, one has to travel to Gurduwara where the new branch is opened and since then has been functioning with residents turning up with no other option, said SBI customers.
In Zakir Nagar, according to some residents, the branch was overcrowded and residents had to face problem as they were made to wait for long time for their turn to come.
