It is 11:55 pm on Friday and most of the stores in Okhla are closed. The roads wear a deserted look with temperature dipping to a historic low at 2 degrees Celsius.
And in a house in Jamia Nagar a person is in pain. The biggest worry for this person: how to get medicine? It is then that the person makes a call to a pharmacist Md Nizamuddin requesting him for medicine.
Though Nizamuddin don’t offer home delivery but he offered help to the patient by personally visiting the house in a few minutes, delivering the medicine that brought relief to that person. “This is not for the first time that he has helped us. Nizamuddin is a businessman but stands out from the crowd. He is always willing to help the needy. In Delhi where there is a mad rush to make money and people are least bothered about others and their neighbours this man is a human being,” said Md Rashid, a resident.
The bonding between local customers and Nizamuddin is strong. Many regular visitors at his medical store located in F85 A in Abul Fazal Enclave are all praise for his kind gesture.
30-year-old Nizamuddin has been running his medical store, Khidmat Medicos, in the locality for the last 15 years. Originally from Gorukhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Nizamuddin told OKHLATIMES.COM that he came to the locality from his hometown when he was a kid. “This shop was started by my brother. And for the last 14 years I have been running it,” said Nizamuddin, a successful pharmacist in the locality.
