A Gramin Seva driver in Okhla sets an example of honesty after he returned a mobile phone to passenger that he had left on his vehicle.
Eyewitnesses said the passenger turned up at Batla House to take his mobile that he had left in the morning by mistake while travelling on the vehicle.
Interestingly, it was Nafees Ahmad, who took the move to anyhow inform the passenger by dialing on his friend’s number. “In the morning I saw this Nokia phone on the front seat. I picked it up and dialed a few numbers to find out whose mobile it was. My efforts yielded positive results as I was able to speak with the passenger. I told him that he should come to Batla House to pick up the phone. He came and gave it to him,” said Ahmad, who has been driving Gramin Seva in the locality for the last few years.
Originally a resident of Ghazipur, he has been living in Abul Fazal Enclave for the last few years.
Other passengers who were sitting on the vehicle appreciate Ahmad for his honesty. However, Ahmad was a bit upset as the passenger didn’t thank him after taking the phone.
When a passenger reminded him about the great job that he has done, laughingly Ahmad said: “This is not for the first time. A few months ago I returned a brand new mobile of a passenger. In this case the passenger didn’t even take the pain to say thank you.”
