Gunshot fired nearby Khalilluah mosque in Batla House: Rumour or reality

Words have spread in the locality that gunshot has been fired nearby Khalilluah mosque in Batla House. The report spread after a local leader Mohd Arif Saifi posted on his timeline about firing in the air in the locality hour ago.

However, other residents too were talking about the firing in the locality. “I heard reports of gunshots being fired around masjid Khalilullah. This is what I have managed to gather this far. It was a personal dispute and the shots were fired in the air. No one was harmed. Police have reached the spot and things are back to normal,” said another resident.

The development has come a day after some concerned residents of Shaheen Bagh visited the local Jamia Nagar police station to discuss the law and order situation in the locality.

Moreover, it was only a few days ago when after gunshot, a person was arrested in a case in which during a theft attempt in Jamia Nagar he had fired at the security guard who had tried to stop him.

Residents lamented that the locality has seen increase in robbery, snatching and fighting cases. During Ramzan several houses were burgled by gangs who targeted the houses morning prayer as many people were known to sleep after that.
