9 points discussed in Jamia’s first Examination Grievance Committee meet that you need to know

The Examination Grievance Committee comprising Sahil Ahmed, Zubair Choudhary, Naqi Mohd, Khushboo Khan and Ateeb Khan as students’ representative as well the administrative body (Registrar, DSW, Cheif Proctor, COE and Assistant proctor) held a meeting on Monday to discuss the grievances of the students related to office of Examination Controller in Mir Anees Hall, according to a student who participated in the meet.

“The students’ representative opposed and put forwarded an application right in the starting of the meeting for non inclusion of Controller of Exam in the committed.

“The Registrar clarified that Controller of Examination is only included to face-off the grievances directly with students in presence of other officials of university.

“The committee had a discussion about the discrepancies and problems faced by the student fraternity of Jamia. The administration has ensured the students’ representatives to resolve the major and minor issues related to the results.

“The committee considered the following issues:

“1. 661 results have been declared by July 31.

“2. Remaining 11 results will be declared by August 25.

“3. The marksheet of final year of all the declared results would be issued by August 25.

“4. The marksheet will be provided in the hard copy.

“5. Results of compartment examination will be declared by September 15, 2017.

“6. Matter related to the admission of the students that have backlog in the final year will be discussed in the admission committee for appropriate decision.

“7. The controller of examination has fixed the timing to meet the students between 4 and 5 pm on working days.

“8. The staff of the examination controller office while interacting with students should be helpful and behave in a positive way.

“9. Discrepancies related to the software will be rectified.

“10. The applications of students related to the grievance may be routed through the DSW (Dean Student Welfare),” said the student.

However, point 4 that the marksheet will be provided in the hard copy is not mentioned in the official copy carrying signature of the Registrar in possession of OT.COM.
