Art works of Jamia’s girl students showcased

Janey Finesse – an exhibition celebrating Jamia’s women artists.

IMG-20170309-WA0031On the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, an exhibition celebrating women artists from Jamia was inaugurated in M. F. Husain Art Gallery, Jamia Millia Islamia.

This exhibition is curated by Ramisha Shams, a student of MFA Art History, Jamia, which showcases the art works of women students from Jamia right from its first women student up to the current batch.

This exhibition was the first of its kind as it gave a platform for an artistic exchange to teachers, alumni, students as well as the visitors.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Roobina Karode, Director and Chief Curator, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi. She was extremely delighted that such an event was planned in Jamia and she congratulated the curator for her efforts.

The whole faculty of fine arts was present along with the Heads of Department of Art Education, Painting, Sculpture along with present and former faculty members.

The exhibition will remain open till friday, March 10, 2017 daily from 10 am to 6 pm.
