This AFE girl student wants to share her story with other Okhla residents. Hey I am a girl…. residing in Abul Fazal Enclave-2 and wants to draw attention towards the cases of increase in the number of stolen wallets.
Yesterday I was travelling from thokar no.6 to Jamia Millia Islamia through electric rikshaw there was a lady who was sitting in front of me and she was there when I took that rikshaw. Then at thokar no.4 a lady age around 30-35 years with 2 children one girl and one boy with the age of around 10-14 years sat with us.
Both the child sat with me on one side while the lady sat with the other lady sitting in front of me. Instead of 2, there were 3 people on one side and that’s why I was feeling the girl’s movement sitting next to me but I never thought of being the victim of that gang.
That girl opened my bag and stole my wallet and I didn’t even noticed because I was unaware of the fact that there are this gang of 3 who would stole anyone’s wallet. They got off the riksha at Okhla Head and I went to the university but when I reached I realised I don’t have my wallet with me and I thought may have left it at home then I took out money which was there in my bag’s pocket and not in my wallet.
Then around 11.45 pm came 3 uncle asking for me and I went downstairs they asked me for my wallet and I was like what and why were they asking about my wallet? It was then that I realised that I must have left my wallet somewhere but they said they found it at one of the panwalas in Batla House.
That panwala was afraid of giving it to me because he must have thought maybe I wouldn’t believe him and will ask him for my money that’s why he gave it to the three of them. One of them was librarian from Jamia itself so they decided to return it to me.
Thankfully I got back all my important things which were there in my wallet like voter ID card, aadhar card, pan card, two ATMs and one SIM except the money.
There was 1,500 rupees with some chillars also and when I shared this to one of my friends she said this also happened with her while travelling from Kalindi Kunj to Zakir Nagar but she was lucky because she caught her red handed but she thought that maybe it was just a coincidence and that’s why didn’t tell anybody.
But now I just want to share this story with other residents so that no other women or girl travelling in electric rickshaw becomes their next target. I know I won’t get my money back but it would surely help other ladies n girls from becoming their victims. And it is important to point out that they were three in numbers one lady and two children.
