Garbage site to come up in Ghaffar Manzil

A few residents of Ghaffar Manzil inaugurated a garbage dumping site in the locality in the presence of Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan. In a post on his timeline, the MLA wrote: “The work to build garbage dumping site in Gaffar Manzil is to begin soon. The work is to be carried out from my personal fund. A few residents Gaffar Manzil inaugurated it.”

It is understood that the move would certainly bring relief to the residents. The dumping of garbage in the locality is a big issue with residents of Abul Fazal Enclave battling garbage menace with the area’s garbage being dumped on roadside.

However, things have improved a bit with the civic agency providing several wheelie bins on the garbage dumping spot to avoid garbage being dumped on road. These bins are visible at Okhla Head in front of a MCD school and Abul Fazal Enclave in front of a hospital and private school.

A few months ago, a local activist had sit-in on indefinite strike for days, demanding the end to dumping of garbage on roadside. Despite other efforts the issue could not be addressed as the major problem is lack of empty plot that could be turned into garbage dump.
