Former President A P J Abdul Kalam, who was admitted to a hospital following sudden illness in Shillong, has died, according to sources. He had gone there to attend a course on Livable Planet Earth at Indian Institute of Management, Shillong.
Preliminary reports suggest that he collapsed while delivering a lecture at IIM. And he was declared brought dead by doctors, according to hospital sources.
Kalam (84) took ill at a function here and was rushed to the hospital, M Kharkrang, SP Khasi Hills, said. He was 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.
