Story of carpenter who became ‘crorepati flesh trade kingpin’ and nursed political ambition.
A few years ago Afaq Hussain came to Delhi in search of job and worked as carpenter initially and then over years became a crorepati flesh trade kingpin owning several properties and heavy bank balance, according to reports.
However their game plan was exposed after Afaq and his wife Saira Begum were arrested for running a human trafficking and prostitution racked in the red light are of GB Road in Delhi, said police officials.
The Pioneer reported that how Afaq had political aspirations and had earned a reputation of Robin Hood in his hometown Moradabad. Police said the couple used to earn around Rs 10 lakh per day from their business, said the report.
“Afaq would solve social problems of people in Moradabad by financially supporting them. The couple had three flats in Bangalore, six kothas in GB road, a farm house in Jaitpur and had also made an advance payment of Rs 50 lakh for a property in Defence Colony. We also found Rs 4 crore in Afaq’s bank account after his arrest. They had six luxury cars, four of which we have recovered in Delhi and two are in Bengaluru…,” said the official as claimed by the daily.
“In order to curb ghastly activities of this syndicate of human trafficking and prostitution operating at GB Road, Crime Branch has launched massive action and has invoked provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against them for the first time ever,” he said.
The story goes on to report how the couple used to force young girls into prostitution. Several other arrests too were made in the case. Kotha managers too have been arrested.
Saira is understood to be from Andhra Pradesh.
