In the latest development a daily has reported that how a man was held for fishing in Okhla sanctuary on Thursday in Noida. Ashok Kumar Sharma, an inspector of the sanctuary, said he found three people fishing in the sanctuary waters early in the morning, reported TOI. “We called a team of officials and surrounded the suspects but they began to flee. We nabbed one accused, identified as Dinesh, while his two accomplices Rajendra and Shiv Charan managed to escape,” he said.
After arresting 25-year-old Dinesh, sanctuary officials searched him and found 20 fish in his possession. Besides, fishing net and a scooter were found from the spot. Later on the accused was taken to Sector 20 police station and a case under sections of Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 was registered against him. Searches are on to arrest two other people who fled from the spot and the accused was produced in court the court and sent to judicial custody, said the official.
It is to be noted that on the metal boundary several notices can be found which forbids residents from getting into the Bird Sanctuary.
