The boy was suffering from life-threatening illness for a long time but got no support from his father, said the man on the condition of anonymity, adding that the family had little money to get proper treatment for the ailing youth.

The incident has surfaced in the background of another report in parts of Delhi in which a father abandoned his two daughters in a dingy room to be recovered by police after residents raised an alarm. After recovering the two minor girls, they were taken to a hospital where they got treatment. Moreover, police too are taking care of the children with Delhi Commission for Women too expressing its desire to adopt the girls and look after them.

Following the recovery, a man hunt was launched in the national Capital to find the uncaring father, who later on was arrested. During the investigation police claimed that the father was drunkard and his wife had left him after being fed up from him. Also it was learnt that the man had lost his job and hence left the family. Later on police claimed he even smothered his small son, a claim that is being investigated.

  1. Okhla Times initiative for news on local issue a good initiative and some time some very important issue not to highlighten. For example yesterday a tv channel broadcast a news of dengue and chikengunia and casualty toll 5, but very rare to know the okhla an example to raise dengue casualties 4. And rest?. My clear view is that okhla Times bringing news from corner of the locality.
