Thursday incident: Ex-Cong MLA Khan visits police station, raises ‘pertinent’ points

As the report of the alleged attack on Ashu Khan surfaced in the locality residents were left shaken. It were not only people from the side of victim and attacker were stationed at the Jamia Nagar police station, former Okhla MLA Asif Md Khan with two local councillors Danish Khan and Ishrat Jahan’s husband Ameeruddin too turned up at the police station.

Asif Md Khan said he had a word with top cop there. “I told them that I am not here in support or against anyone. I am here to express my reservation at what is happening in the locality. Action should be taken against those involved in such incidents. On and off we come to know of firing in the locality which certainly is not a good sign,” he told OKHLATIMES.

He said crime activities in the locality have increased which is not good for governance. If such things are not nipped in the bud immediately the law and order situation in the locality would further precipitate, he claimed.

He said it is important that aam aadmi is not hit hard with increasing crime in the locality as it makes no sense to know that several rounds were fired and roads blocked leading to traffic snarl.
