End to bumpy ride in Batla House courtesy DMRC

Residents are heaving a sigh of relief as now they don’t have to face hardship while travelling on Batla House road courtesy Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

Reports have surfaced that the road has been paved months after residents protested against the deteriorating road infrastructure in the locality.

It is to be pointed out that a few months ago a few activists had hold sit-in protest at Okhla Head, demanding improvement in road and other civic amenities in the locality. “It is a good move the residents have been waiting for months. Travelling on Okhla roads was a hell lot of bad experience. We are delighted to see that after months at last the agency has decided to pave the road which certainly would save residents from hardship. Because of neglect there were several potholes, making travelling an arduous task,” said Noushu Ali.

Other residents too had good words to say for the DMRC that is getting the road build. However, some residents said the whole stretch should have been paved rather than just a small stretch just in front of Batla House graveyard.

A few weeks ago another road Abul Fazal Enclave-Shaheen Bagh was paved by the authorities, said residents.
