The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) known for building metros has now taken a plunge in real estate. According to reports, in first of its venture, the DMRC is all ready to develop 2BHK and 3BHK Okhla.
And if one goes by the report in a national daily then the booking for the houses is to be thrown open next month by the DMRC.
Scheduled to be delivered by 2019, about 90 flats priced between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 1.20 crore in Okhla with around 15 per cent flats to be reserved for economically weaker sections, officials said.
“The DMRC will begin printing brochures and plans for the housing scheme in a month’s time from now. The booking process will be thrown open to the public soon,” a DMRC spokesperson said.
The plot DMRC is working on is next to Okhla Metro station.
“Flats will be handed over to applicants through a lucky draw, much like it happens in DDA housing schemes. Those whose names appear on the final list will be given the flats and the rest, whose names do not feature in the list, will be refunded,” an official said as reported by The Hindu.
Also, the DMRC is to build 460 flats in west Delhi’s Janakpuri.
