The 132nd Board meeting of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) was held at the Delhi Secretariat on Friday, under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Delhii Arvind Kejriwal. The Board took several important decisions in the meeting.

93 decentralised STPs cleared
The DJB gives approval for 348 Mohalla Clinics on its locations
The Board also approved Rs 10.49 crore for setting up of Hydro Power Projects

The Board also approved installation of new water and sewer lines in several areas:
Water pipeline change in Kirari constituency from Kirari UGR to Mubarakpur at a cost of Rs 11.84 crore, this will benefit 2.5 lakh people in 83 unauthorised colonies and three rural villages. This will solve the problems of pressure and contamination in the area.
New sewer lines to be laid in Madhu Vihar with a cost of Rs 63.5 crore. It will benefit 55,000 people.
New sewer lines in Shiv Enclave group of colonies with a cost of Rs. 37.9 crore. It will benefit 1 lakh people.
New sewer line in Rajnagar Extension II in Bijwasan at the cost of Rs. 24.85 crore. The length of the line will be 38 Kms.
New sewer line in Dharampura group of colonies, Roshan Garden in Najafgarh constituency at the cost of Rs. 17.47 crore. The total length will be 29.5 kms.
New sewer line in Gokulpur, Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad at a cost of Rs. 26.3 crore. This line will pass 7.5 MGD of waste water in Yamuna Vihar STP.
Rehabilitation of 8.5 kms trunk sewers in Anand Vihar, Narwana Road, Hargobind Enclave and Vikas Marg at a cost of Rs. 55.4 crore.
Rehabilitation of 7 kms trunk sewer in Jhilmil Colony at the cost of Rs 77.22 crore.
New sewer line in Vikaspuri Group of Colonies – Mohan Garden, Hastsal enclave, Vikas Nagar, Vidya Vihar and Rajhans Vihar at a cost of Rs 62 crore. The total length will be 124 kms.
New sewer line in Kamruddin Nagar at the cost of Rs 77 crore. Length will be 94 kms.
Another important announcement being that the Board removed the cap of 10-water connections in one building. There are several building in Delhi which have more than 10-flats and thus it was decided to do away with the cap to make every resident get a legal connection irrespective of the number of flats/connections in the building. This will not only help everyone get a valid water connection, but will also get huge number of consumers who were otherwise using illegal connections in the revenue net.
The Board approved setting up of 93 decentralised STPs.
The Board approved the payment of remaining conditions of the 7th pay commission to its employees. The remaining conditions include – HRA, TA, FPA, NPA etc.
The Board also approved Rs. 10.49 crore for setting up of Hydro Power Projects. The Hydro power projects would generate 397 Kilo Watt power every year.
The Board approved Water Audit through flow-meter. The flow-meters would be installed at various points from Water treatment plant to consumer end to measure and check leakages, unauthorised tappings etc. The total budget approved for the audit is Rs 222 crore.
The Board also gave in-principle approval to 348 Mohalla Clinics at Delhi Jal Board locations.
The Board also approved payment of compensation of Rs 10 lakh to those who died during sewer works since 1993.
