Jamia’s ex-sports adviser to get Dhyan Chand Award

S S Hakim (former adviser cum consultant, sports) Jamia Millia Islamia will be awarded the Dhyan Chand Award for lifetime achievement and contribution to sports development, according to Md Moonis.


“SS Hakim, Sqdn Leader ex-Air Force Officer, Olympian 1960 at Rome Olympics, ex-Indian Coach, ex-FIFA Referee, ex-AFC Instructor and ex-Regional Director of SAI, son of late SA Rahim, the greatest coach of India.

“Also he gave his services to Jamia Millia Islamia as a Consultant-cum-Advisor (Sports) to its V Chancellor for four years during the period of Najeeb Jung and to Aligarh Muslim University for about 18 months. Now, he is the Chief Project Director, Sports Authority of India 2017 U-17 World Cup,” wrote Sushant Sharma in his timeline also sharing his photo.
