Regional study circles, salary hikes for imams on the anvilOT, September 9, 2012 13:14 IST Okhla Times News Service/Nandyal (Andhra Pradesh) Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has announced that regional study circles one or two will be started soon in each region exclusively for minorities. Also, salary enhancement for imams and moazins are on the board. Housing, Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu jobs will be provided for minorities on a big way. The chief minister announced these while interacting with the community members at Nandyal where he has also participated in a Muslim mass marriage. Throughout the journey, NKKR announced many welfare schemes for farmers, tribals, minorities and women. Besides, the CM is touring the state to find whether benefits of schemes are reaching people at the grass-root level. A new mass contact programme in every district of the state, Indiramma Bata has been a huge success with people participation. Unrolled by the chief minister from July 14 to continue until February 2013, the event is yielding positive results with people getting a chance to directly interact with NKKR, according to officials. Farmers’ concern of power and water has also been issued as the state government has promised to provide electricity for more than seven hours every day. Besides providing subsidized farm mechanization, the government has offered them interest free loans.
