Help activist collect data of people killed last year due to dengue

As monsoon has begun and chances of outbreak of mosquito-borne disease are on rise with residents being apprehensive as some people had died of dengue last year, a Shaheen Bagh activist has started a campaign to collect data so as to convince the government to take precautionary measures in the locality.

Pervez Mohammed said as dengue deaths were under reported last year it is important that right data should be collected so that officials could be convinced about the real dengue threat to Okhla, a deprived locality.

It is to be noted that to get things addressed it is important that family members who lost their dear and near one to the disease should come forward and get their records registered. Last year several reports had surfaced of how people had died of dengue in the locality. There were cases of two deaths in one street of Abulf Fazal Enclave. The situation had gone out of hand and as monsoon has begun this year residents are living in fear, according to residents.

A national daily too had carried a story on dengue deaths in the locality. However, the exact data of deaths by dengue is not available. And it is here that Pervez has stepped in to fill the void.

He has urged residents to share the details on this number: 9811136327.
