Delhi’s Waqf Board officer was raided a few hours ago by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) over alleged recruitment scam against its chief and Okhla AAP MLA Amantullah Khan.
“A team is currently at the Delhi Waqf Board office and our men are going through related documents and files on a complaint of recruitment irregularities against the Board chairman Amantullah Khan,” said a senior ACB official, reported PTI.
Khan also confirmed the development and wrote a few hours ago: “ACB raided Waqf Board office just now.”
Just now he wrote on his timeline: “आज दिल्ली वक़्फ़ बोर्ड के ऑफिस में ACB ने छापा मारा उनके सवालो का जवाब देते हुए मुझे देखा जासकता हे इनलोगो ने घंटो पूछताछ की लेकिन उनलोगों को कुछ भी ग़लत नहीं मिला जिन लोगो की वक़्फ़ बोर्ड ने भर्ती की कॉन्ट्रेक्ट bases पर की और सारे रूल फॉलो किये अखबार मैं ऐड निकाल कर किये अगर LG नजीब साहब में दम है तो जिन लोगो ने वक़्फ़ बोर्ड को लूटा है तो उनको गिरफ्तार करो मेने ACB के लोगो को चैलेंज किया अगर एक रूपये की बेईमानी साबित करदो आप जाँच कर रहे हो इंशाल्लाह सारे पदों से इस्तीफा देदूंगा.”
It is reported that the office of Waqf Board that is located in Daryaganj was raided at around 2.30 pm.
It was last week only when the ACB had initiated a “preliminary inquiry” into recruitment scam” in the Board on a complaint by Mohammad Mustafa.
Then Khan had termed the move “interference” in working of the body by Liutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
“We have followed all the due legal procedures in recruitment and not only ACB, even a CBI inquiry cannot find any irregularity in it. The LG is knowingly creating hurdles in working of Waqf Board,”
Khan had said. It has been reported that after becoming Waqf Board chairman, Khan has been accused of making recruitment on several posts.
The complaint by Mustafa alleged that Khan had “illegally appointed” several persons including “his friends and relatives” on different posts in the Waqf Board, said the ACB officer as reported by PTI.
