FDI in retail: Traders to hold talks with SibbalOT, October 24, 2012 12:10 IST Okhla Times Reporter/New Delhi Delhi traders have agreed to discuss the issue of FDI in retail with the Union Minister Kapil Sibbal. Sibbal offered them to interact with him before reaching any conclusion on the issue. The traders led by the National General Secretary, Confedration of All India Traders, Praveen Khandelwal today called on Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at her residence to discuss VAT related pending issues and convey their thanks on the issues already settled on intervention of the CM. They were accompanied and escorted by the Union Minister Kapil Sibbal. The traders in large number felicited Dikshit and Sibbal and requested them to help them in resolution of all issues in the future. Khandelwal suggested the CM to constitute a committee to look into thier difficulties . Both leaders stated that they really value the contribution of traders as they are , in fact, spine of economic development of the country including Delhi. Dikshit stated that the collection of VAT is crucial for the development of the city. She exhorted them not to do anythig for evasion of the taxes. Khandelwal assured that the traders would render their co operation in meeting the target of collection.
They would also ensure that collection surpasses the target. The CM asked Khandelwal to submit a list of one trader from every trade in order to constitute a committe.
He also mentioned difficulties in obtaining Form C from other states. Dikshit announced that the date of submission of Form C 2 has been extended upto Dec 31, 2012, as requested by the traders. The traders from all important trade associations and transporers were present. Post a comment Top News
