The Delhi Government is planning to launch a website to bring awareness on provisions of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. It is understood that the websites will help prevent atrocities against SC/ST. Also, it will facilitate registration of FIRs related to violation of rules under the Act. Senior government officials believe that the website will also create awareness. The website will carry signboards stating designated police officer in Thanas and SDM offices.

Besides, it will also enable victims to seek assistance in getting their FIRs registered and further seek possible immediate help in protection of their rights.  The city government will also consider setting up of dedicated courts for trial of offences relating to atrocities against SC/STs.  In order to ensure compliance of the Act the city government has constituted a state level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee headed by the Chief Minister.

The Secretary SC/ST Welfare has been nominated as a Nodal Officer.  Further District Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committees have also been constituted at district levels with Dy. Commissioners (Revenue) as Chairmen.

The decision for building the website was taken at the State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee set up under the provision of Rule 16 of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act that was headed by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Others who attended the meeting included Finance Minister Dr. A.K. Walia, Development & SC/ST Welfare Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, Secretary SC/ST R.K. Srivastava, a number of MLAs and other senior officers of the concerned

The Committee also appreciated the functioning of Delhi SC/ST/OBC/Minorities Financial & Development Corporation which has been consecutively adjudged 3rd position in the country for its outstanding contribution in development of these communities.  The Chief Minister expressed her pleasure for getting recognition during the last three years and expressed confidence that the Corporation will be adjudged 1st position in ensuing year.
