It is order that since Monday, several university officials have visited the students to convince them to end the strike with little success. It was on Monday when OT.COM was the only portal to cover students protest.
Interestingly, students a month ago had even written a letter, seeking his intervention in the issue. The letter is in possession of OT.COM in which the students have raised about ten points raising the issue of the deplorable state of affairs, mismanagement and problems in the Turkish Language and Literature Programme but with little success. And when their demands were not met it was only then that the students agreed to sit on hunger strike, according to sources.
In the letter the students wrote: “This is to bring to your kind notice that we, the student of Turkish Language & Literature Programme, Faculty of Humanities and Languages, are writing to you because of an unfortunate situation that has arisen in this department in the current semester.
“Firstly, we would like to highlight the deplorable state of affairs and mismanagement that is taking place in current semester since the removal of our former coordinator.”
