Price of chicken comes down after 2 months in Okhla.
Price of chicken has come down after two months, according to regular meat shop visitor. It was two months ago when the price of chicken had gone up to Rs 200 per kilogram. For months it remained static.
Then many shopkeepers attributed the price rise to decrease in stock of animals at mandis. For a while there were fears of the price going up further as then meat association had planned to give a call for closure of mandis. However, nothing like this happened.
The price went up to Rs 220 during Eid, said residents. But many were surprised to see the price of chicken coming down to Rs 180 per kilogram.
A shopkeeper in Abul Fazal Enclave said the price has come down after a gap of two months for the stock in the mandis has gone up.
He said on the condition of anonymity that the price goes up and down due to several reasons and of them the major being the availability of stock in the mandis. As the stock has increased the price has come down and we don’t know how long it will be static, he said.
For regular chicken eaters it is a good move.
