Momos have fast emerged as a popular food across the country, including Okhla.
Available at low price, momos can be easily available at several kiosks in Okhla’s Jamia Nagar. And the sellers are doing a good business with youths and people of all age group being hooked to the sumptuous momos that are easily available at kiosks found across the locality.
However, a latest report doing the rounds in several publications could make momos lovers sad. ABP reported two days ago that several shops were closed on a complaint that dog meat was being served in momos.
“There has been a complaint that dog meat is being mixed in chicken momos and being sold to the public. Following this many eateries in the cantonment area of Delhi had to undergo a quality check. 20 eating joints have now been shut,” reported another online portal oneindia.com. It might take a few days for the full report to come out but the development is not good news for those who love to eat non-vegetable momos in Okhla.
Moreover, on February 16 this portal carried a report on the debate in the locality about: Is chicken momo that you eat halal? During that report some shopkeepers said momos are brought ready-made from other places in Delhi.
