More than 1 lakh admission forms sold in Jamia

MAY 12, 2011: It is not only Jamia School that is attracting overwhelming response from young students even internationally famed Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has become a hot spot for admission seekers. Until May 9, 2011, a total of one lakh fourteen thousand two hundred and forty four (1,14,244) forms have been sold, claim University officials. Though the last date of receiving completed application forms in many courses is over, for others the last date is still not over.

Media Coordinator Simi Malhotra said: “The process of admission to more than 7,000 seats (approx.) spread over 231 professional and non-professional courses in 36 departments and 17 centres of excellence & research and Jamia Schools for the Academic Session 2010-11 of JMI is in full swing.” Most of these forms have been sold out from the University’s counter M/s Maktaba Jamia Limited.
 
The highest number of admission forms have been sold for B.Tech./Diploma/B.E./MBA(P/T)/M.Tech is 37,902 for 1,469 seats; 9423 forms sold for 300 seats in B.Ed./ETE; 4495 for 220 seats in MBA (F/T)/B.Arch and 1494 forms sold for 170 seats in  MA (Mass Comm.)/PG Courses.
